## Description

Sotra Grappling is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) club based in Straume, on the island of Sotra, Norway. Founded in February 2023 as a sister club of Bergen Grappling, it offers training for both children and adults and welcomes newcomers with a beginner-friendly approach. The club describes BJJ as a grappling sport focused on grips, ground fighting, and controlling or escaping an opponent, and presents it as a safe style to practise. Classes for children and adults are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays; children’s sessions begin from first grade and emphasize fitness, flexibility, confidence, respect, and a supportive social environment. Prospective members can try training free for one week, and the club also mentions a one-month free trial on its website. Led by founder and brown-belt instructor Alexander Aloysius Jensen, Sotra Grappling promotes a respectful culture and has zero tolerance for bullying. It supports the Buddies over Bullies initiative and shares training updates, techniques, and news through Instagram.
