## Description

Sound Equine Options is a licensed rescue organization founded in 2009 by Dr. Scott Hansen and Kim Mosiman to assist horse owners who are unable to provide proper care for their animals. They focus on ending the cycle of abuse, neglect, abandonment, and suffering for local horses. Sound Equine Options works closely with law enforcement agencies in Oregon and Washington to assist with cases of abuse and neglect. The organization fills a crucial need in the community by caring for abused, neglected, and abandoned horses that local and state governments often lack the resources to address. They offer programs such as rehabilitation, training, and adoption to ensure that rescued horses find reliable and caring homes. Sound Equine Options is known for their emphasis on high-quality natural horsemanship training, which creates a bond of respect and communication between horses and riders. By providing temporary assistance and resources to struggling horse owners, the organization aims to alleviate financial burdens and promote responsible horse ownership. Their dedication to the well-being of horses has gained recognition, with their efforts during a wildfire crisis earning them the Veterinary Service Award from the Oregon Veterinary Medical Associations in 2018. With a low adoption return rate and happy adopters, Sound Equine Options continues to make a difference in the lives of horses and their owners.
