## Description

The Southern Haemophilia Network (SHN) is a specialist healthcare network commissioned by NHS England – Wessex to provide consistent care for people with inherited and acquired bleeding disorders across Southern England. Its integrated approach aims to ensure patients receive the same standard of care regardless of where they live, with treatment and support tailored to individual needs.

The network brings together clinical services across four counties and includes Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Poole Hospital, Queen Alexandra Hospital, Salisbury District Hospital and Dorset County Hospital. Patients can access specialist care from consultants, nurses, therapists and other healthcare professionals, alongside diagnostic services and support for families.

SHN also provides information about bleeding disorders, treatment and frequently asked questions, and shares news and community updates. Its work includes research and clinical trials, with clinicians from participating organisations guiding key decisions about the network’s services and resources. By encouraging collaboration between patients and healthcare professionals, SHN aims to address differences in regional provision and support high-quality haemophilia and bleeding-disorder services.
