## Description

South Green is an IFB-ELIXIR member bioinformatics platform supporting genomic research on tropical, southern, and Mediterranean plants. Created through collaboration among French and international research institutions, the platform brings together four founding partners—Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, CIRAD, INRAE, and IRD—and three research units. Its work supports scientific research, sustainable agriculture, and biodiversity conservation in the Global South and Mediterranean regions.

The platform provides open-source bioinformatics tools, genomic databases, and training for the research community. Its resources include genome hubs for crops such as banana and citrus, and tools for genome assembly, genotyping data management, comparative genomics, and pangenome analysis. Users can also access AgroLD, a knowledge graph integrating plant-related data, and Galaxy, a web-based environment for reproducible computational research.

South Green also offers access to high-performance computing infrastructure through two clusters, with more than 500 bioinformatics tools available to over 400 users. Together, these services support genomic data analysis, resource discovery, and capacity building for plant and pathogen research.
