## Description

Southport Olympic Swimming Club Inc. is a community swimming club based at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre in Southport, Queensland. Founded in 1917, it aims to develop athletic ability, confidence and character in a stable, inclusive environment that values members’ wellbeing and community involvement. The club welcomes swimmers across development and competitive levels, with squad coaching provided through its affiliation with BE Swim Coaching. Coaches Glenn Baker and Sean Eels bring extensive experience and have guided athletes to state, national and international competition.

Members train at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, which offers heated 50-metre pools, a 25-metre program pool, a high-performance gym, timing systems and recovery areas. The club also hosts an annual meet with Swimming Gold Coast, giving junior swimmers from regional clubs the opportunity to compete at the venue. Southport Olympic supports athletes’ development through training equipment upgrades and swimming video analysis services, and acknowledges support from sporting bodies, local government and community partners.
