## Description

SOVVA, the Slovak Organisation for Research and Development Activities, is a nationwide, non-governmental nonprofit organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting research and innovation in Slovakia. It works to strengthen research and development capacity, analyse the research ecosystem, and encourage dialogue between academia and business. The organisation also supports young innovative entrepreneurs and helps bring science to wider audiences.

SOVVA leads and participates in projects at regional, national and international levels. Its portfolio includes initiatives focused on science communication, education, entrepreneurship, women in science and international cooperation. It is the organiser of the European Researchers’ Night in Slovakia, described by the organisation as the country’s largest science-popularisation event. Other activities include public science events, news and projects that connect research with society and encourage collaboration among researchers and partners.

Through a team of specialists and cooperation with domestic and international partners, SOVVA contributes to the development of research, education and innovation. Based in Bratislava, it works to foster an environment in which scientific knowledge and new ideas can support Slovakia’s development.
