## Description

So warst du… is the personal funeral-speech service of Thea Pohl, an independent funeral celebrant working in Dresden and the surrounding area. She creates individual eulogies that reflect not only a person’s life story, but also the small details, habits, sayings and memories that made them distinctive. The process begins with a brief phone call to check availability, followed by an in-depth conversation of around two hours, which can take place by video if preferred. Family members are welcome, and no preparation is required. Pohl writes a speech tailored to the family’s memories, usually lasting 15 to 30 minutes, and consults with them on the ceremony’s schedule, music and personal wishes. She also conducts the agreed ceremony and can offer final words at the graveside. Further support includes follow-up communication before the service, an optional copy of the speech, and audio recording or sound equipment by prior arrangement. Thea Pohl aims to make each farewell feel true to the person being remembered, with room for both quiet reflection and appropriate humor.
