## Description

**Brand Description: Space for Sustainability Award**

Established in 2012, the Space for Sustainability Award represents a collaborative initiative between the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Interparliamentary Space Conference (EISC). This award serves to inspire innovative discussions on how the space sector can aid sustainable development across Europe and the globe. Aimed primarily at young students and professionals, the competition invites participants to present their groundbreaking project ideas that showcase the positive contributions of the space industry toward environmental sustainability.

Over the years, the award has celebrated 11 successful editions and recognized 22 outstanding individuals with first-place honors and jury special mentions. By nurturing fresh perspectives and raising awareness about sustainable practices in the space sector, the program addresses pressing global challenges like climate change. ESA's commitment to sustainability is further reflected in its Green Agenda, targeting ambitious goals by 2030 to enhance their space programs' societal contributions while also minimizing environmental impacts related to their operations.
