## Description

Supporting Preparedness for Article 6 Cooperation (SPAR6C) is a five-year, multi-country climate initiative launched in 2022 to help Colombia, Pakistan, Thailand and Zambia prepare to participate in international carbon markets under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Led by the Global Green Growth Institute, the project is implemented with UNEP Copenhagen Climate Center, GFA Consulting Group, Kommunalkredit Public Consulting and Carbon Limits. SPAR6C works with governments to develop the policy and regulatory frameworks needed for carbon-market participation, while encouraging greater private-sector engagement and investment to expand climate action. Its country-level activities bring together national and subnational authorities, businesses, researchers, academic institutions and young people to build the conditions for carbon trading and increased climate ambition. The initiative also supports knowledge-sharing and capacity development through its Community of Practice for Article 6 Implementing Countries, events, research, mentorship programs, local impact reports and an Article 6 toolbox. These resources share practical lessons, strengthen expertise and connect stakeholders across participating countries.
