## Description

The Société des Pêcheurs de Basse-Areuse (SPBA) is a fishing association based in the Neuchâtel region of Switzerland. Founded in 1910, it brings together amateur river anglers who share an interest in fishing and the waterways of the Basse-Areuse. The society’s activities extend beyond fishing: members take part in river-related initiatives aimed at helping preserve local watercourses, and the association organizes events and opportunities to meet throughout the year.

SPBA shares updates, event information and competition results through its website, alongside a calendar, photo gallery and archive. Recent news has included a visit to Nathan Magnin, a fishing day in October 2025, a torée gathering, and information about the opening of the fishing season in 2024. The site also introduces the society’s committee and provides a contact route for visitors. Its calendar notes that the torée planned for 25 October 2026 has been cancelled. Overall, SPBA offers a community for amateur river fishers to connect, participate in shared activities and support the preservation of their local rivers.
