## Description

SP.CIP.COD, the Portuguese Society of Psychological Sciences and Deviant Behaviour, is an organisation dedicated to advancing knowledge and professional practice in psychological sciences and deviant behaviour. It promotes the dissemination of relevant theories, research and practical approaches, while connecting professionals interested in the field and its clinical applications. The society also provides high-quality training that combines theoretical and practical learning with supervision and guidance.

Its current programme focuses on addictive behaviours and chemical and behavioural dependencies, covering conceptualisation, assessment and intervention. The training is intended particularly for psychologists, doctors, nurses, social workers, legal professionals and criminologists. Other subjects offered include psychological distress in people who display deviant behaviour, community intervention in areas facing multiple challenges, and death, autopsy and drug addiction.

SP.CIP.COD also offers a community support service and can direct people to a clinician located as near as possible to their home. Its supervisors meet criteria associated with the European Diploma in Psychology and have more than ten years of clinical experience. The society is based in Porto, Portugal.
