## Description

SPEAC is a Canadian-built, bilingual social media platform in private beta, designed to make online sharing more accountable and reliable. Users can post, follow others, and build a personalized feed, while AI reviews checkable claims before they are published. The platform uses Claude by Anthropic to search the web in real time and assess claims against credible sources. It then provides one of five findings: verified, disputed, contested, could not review, or opinion, with supporting sources where available.

SPEAC gives users a choice to edit and repost, publish with the finding visible, or cancel. Greetings, opinions, and community questions are not treated as factual claims. Each post also contributes to a public trust score, which rises with consistent accuracy and falls with repeated misinformation. Founded by former journalist Nathalie Trepanier, SPEAC presents itself as independent and focused on accuracy rather than engagement-driven outrage. The service aims to support a healthier internet through fact-checking before content reaches readers, and offers early access by invitation during its beta.
