Speaking Books is a brand that helps organizations reach communities that were previously difficult to engage with. They achieve this by delivering healthcare audio books that empower, educate, and save lives. Speaking Books originated from the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) seeking a solution to distribute health information to low literacy communities.

Inspired by an article in the Wall Street Journal, SADAG's founder created an affordable solution using talking books. These audio books, called Speaking Books, are a cost-effective edutainment tool that provide critical, life-saving information. Each book features culturally relevant artwork and text and can be operated at the push of a button.

Additionally, Speaking Books work with global health organizations to address various health, social, and literacy topics. Their mission is to empower, educate, and save lives by bridging the communication gap and overcoming the barriers presented by illiteracy. Working closely with clients, Speaking Books creates unique books covering more than 100 topics in over 40 languages, which have been distributed in 35 countries
