## Description

Spelthorne Rangers FC, known as “The Salmons,” is a Surrey-based veterans’ football club founded in 1990 by a group of friends, many from Spelthorne College. The club has played 11-a-side football for more than 35 years and is looking for over-40s teams to arrange matches locally and around the world. Based in Shepperton, the team combines football with international travel, having played in 32 countries and faced clubs, legends’ sides and football associations across Europe and South America. Notable opponents and experiences include Flamengo, Boca Juniors veterans, Hearts Legends, and teams in Slovenia, Lithuania and Wales. The club’s honours include league titles, cup wins and runners-up finishes in a range of competitions, including Middlesex Sunday Football League veterans’ events and local cups. Its achievements have also been recognised by FA Chair Debbie Hewitt MBE. Spelthorne Rangers shares club news and photos, and provides information about its sponsors. Teams interested in arranging over-40s fixtures can contact the club by phone or reach manager and secretary Brian P. Astridge.
