## Description

The Portuguese Statistical Society (SPE) is a professional and scientific organisation dedicated to promoting Probability and Statistics and their applications in Portugal. It supports the development and recognition of statistical study and research, while encouraging knowledge-sharing across academic, professional and public communities. SPE organises scientific and educational sessions and participates in events related to statistics and data science. Its activities include conferences, short courses and initiatives for young people and students, such as the SPE Junior Club and Explorística.

The Society also promotes awards that recognise achievement and encourage engagement with the field.
