Serikat Petani Kelapa Sawit (SPKS) is an Indonesian independent smallholder oil palm farmers’ organization founded in 2004. It brings together around 90,000 members through farmer groups and cooperatives across more than 500 villages, 25 districts, and 10 provinces. SPKS works to improve farmers’ capacity, institutions, livelihoods, and position in the palm oil supply chain, collaborating with government, businesses, development organizations, and international partners.

Its programs support cooperative development, farm legality, farmer data collection, productivity, sustainability certification, and traceability, while helping members access finance and national and global markets. SPKS provides training and technical guidance in good agricultural practices and sustainable farm management, and assists cooperatives with ISPO and RSPO certification, including land mapping, internal controls, and audit preparation. It also advocates for fairer policies, transparent transactions, stronger farmer-company partnerships, and greater participation in value-added activities.

Through these efforts, SPKS aims to build independent, prosperous, and sustainable smallholders and promote an inclusive, competitive Indonesian palm oil industry that meets evolving market expectations.
