## Description

Sporepeter Basel is a Basel Fasnacht clique founded in 1975, bringing together members who share a lasting enthusiasm for the city’s carnival traditions. The group describes itself as relaxed yet committed, with more than 50 years of participation in drumming and piccolo playing. Members can also join the Vortrab, the procession group that walks ahead during the parade. Sporepeter welcomes newcomers as well as former players who would like to return after a break, and encourages anyone interested to get in touch about taking part in Basel Fasnacht.

The clique provides information about its activities and current association year, and holds rehearsals for drummers and piccolo players, sometimes separately and sometimes together. Its website also shares details of upcoming gatherings, contact information, membership, and the people involved in creating the group’s carnival costumes, masks, and lanterns. Sporepeter Basel is supported by local sponsors and connects members through regular practice and shared preparation for Fasnacht.
