# SPORT ECONOMICS - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `sporteconomics.eu` ## Description The European Sport Economics Association (ESEA) is a scientific association founded in Cologne, Germany, on 4 October 2010. It brings together academics and practitioners working in sport economics, with the goal of encouraging communication across the field and showing the value of research and academic training to professionals, policymakers and the wider public. ESEA pursues these aims primarily by organising an annual conference and sharing publications and other documents related to sport economics. The association also supports scholarly exchange through its connection with the International Journal of Sport Finance, its official journal, which publishes a special issue featuring selected papers from the 2025 ESEA Conference. The annual conference provides a forum for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss work in sport economics. The 16th conference took place at the University of Innsbruck in Austria from 27 to 29 August 2025.
