## Description

The Sociedade Portuguesa de Psicossomática (SPPS) is a Portuguese multidisciplinary society dedicated to integrating knowledge of the relationship between body and mind. It provides a space for reflection grounded in scientific rigour and ethical principles in therapeutic relationships and research. The society promotes the study of psychosomatics by encouraging scientific exchange among professionals, therapists and researchers. It also supports investigation into the interdisciplinary nature of psychosomatic approaches and seeks to connect perspectives across fields.

SPPS shares its work and activities through news, events and educational initiatives. Its programme has included regional psychosomatics meetings and the course “Psicopatologias Oblíquas,” which invites participants to reconsider psychopathology beyond the limits of classification systems. The society also features a reading club, an Affective Neuroscience group and Cartografias Psicossomáticas, creating additional avenues for engagement with related ideas. Through these activities, SPPS aims to foster informed discussion and a thoughtful integration of body–mind knowledge. It serves people interested in psychosomatics and offers opportunities to follow events, explore its initiatives and connect with the society.
