## Description

The Square Foot Gardening Foundation, founded by Mel Bartholomew in 1996, champions the Square Foot Gardening Method, promoting sustainable gardening practices in urban and small spaces. This innovative approach empowers individuals to grow their own organic vegetables efficiently, fostering a sense of community and self-sufficiency. The Foundation not only educates aspiring gardeners through a wealth of resources, including newsletters, videos, and books, but also engages them in a vibrant online community where gardening enthusiasts share ideas and tips.

In addition to its educational efforts, the Square Foot Gardening Foundation actively supports local and global initiatives aimed at improving food security. Through its grant programs, the organization collaborates with nonprofits aligned with its mission, enhancing access to gardening and plant-based living. With over two decades of dedication to Mel's vision, the Foundation continues to inspire families and communities to flourish, one square foot at a time, making gardening accessible and rewarding for everyone.
