The Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl, also known as the German Steel Association, is the leading organization representing steel producing companies in Germany. With a focus on sustainable production and competitiveness, the association actively advocates for the interests of its member companies and their more than 80,000 employees. As the political voice of the steel industry, their mission is to shape future political conditions to ensure the sustainable and competitive production of steel in Germany. To effectively represent industry interests, the German Steel Association collaborates with various partners and organizations both nationally and internationally. They are connected with the European steel industry lobby EUROFER, the world steel association worldsteel, and the Federation of German Industries (BDI), among others. By participating in alliances and joint projects, the association strengthens the position of the steel industry and contributes to the development of industrial policies that support Germany as a competitive industrial location.
