## Description

Star Catcher Industries, Inc. is a space energy company developing what it describes as the first power grid in space. Founded in 2024 and based in Jacksonville, Florida, the company aims to address growing demand for electricity in orbit, where satellites’ onboard systems can limit mission capability. Its Star Catcher Network uses optical power beaming to transmit concentrated solar energy directly to satellites’ existing solar arrays. The service is designed to provide power on demand, scaling a satellite’s available power by up to ten times without requiring hardware modifications or retrofits. Star Catcher presents this shared infrastructure as a way to support more capable space missions and growth in areas including universal connectivity, advanced computing, and national security. The company says it holds a world record for optical power beaming and plans to bring its technology to orbit in 2026, including an orbital power-beaming demonstration. Its website features technology information, applications, company news, and career opportunities, and identifies Aethero as a customer that purchased power for advanced computing in orbit.
