The General Directorate of State Security was established to be the arm of the Supreme Defense Council, with the mission of safeguarding the state against internal and external threats. Committed to the Lebanese Constitution, the Directorate derives its laws, instructions, and principles from the spirit of its founding goal and instills in its members the priority of loyalty to the nation. The mission of the Directorate is singular: protecting Lebanon. As evidenced by the Code of Conduct established, the Directorate is dedicated to ensuring integrity, transparency, and accountability in its operations.
