# State of the Birds - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `stateofthebirds.org` ## Description The State of the Birds 2022 report highlights the alarming decline in bird populations in the United States and Canada, with 3 billion breeding birds lost since 1970. The report emphasizes the need for new, large-scale conservation efforts to benefit not only birds but also wildlife and people. By taking proactive conservation measures, we can prevent 70 Tipping Point species from further declining and facing endangerment. Bird conservation has far-reaching benefits, beyond just birds themselves. It offers opportunities for local, voluntary initiatives to protect and restore lands and waters, contributing to broader goals of biodiversity protection, climate resilience, and environmental justice. By investing in bird habitat conservation, we can make significant progress in safeguarding ecosystems and promoting a sustainable future for all. State of the Birds 2022 is a call to action to bend the curve and bring birds back for the well-being of wildlife, people, and the planet. ## Industries - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 Environmental Science _(under Science and Education)_ ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Flamingo | #f56e28 | accent | | Thunderbird | #b31b1b | dark | | Cadet Blue | #abb8c3 | light | --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
