## Description

The State Reserve and Wartime Stocks State Agency is a government agency of the Republic of Bulgaria, headquartered in Sofia. It manages state reserves and wartime stocks intended to help meet the needs of the population and national economy during crises, emergencies, or war. Its reserves include essential materials, fuels, food, medicines, protective equipment, and other supplies defined by law or government decisions.

The agency oversees storage facilities and territorial directorates, maintains records related to obligated businesses and petroleum storage sites, and monitors compliance with requirements for crude oil and petroleum product stocks. It also carries out inspections and publishes information about reserves and materials released for sale. Purchases are arranged through licensed commodity exchanges.

When authorized, the agency can release reserve goods to support responses to crisis situations. For example, in 2024 it provided protective equipment and canned food to social services in Veliko Tarnovo Municipality. The agency also shares information about administrative services, public records, legal requirements, and the storage and quality control of grain.
