## Description

St Catherine’s Hospice is an independent local charity serving people across Chorley, Preston and South Ribble who are affected by life-shortening conditions, including cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure. Its purpose is to help patients and their families experience the best possible quality of life, with comfort, dignity, independence and choice, through to the end of life. Care is provided at the hospice and in patients’ homes, alongside medical outpatient and lymphoedema clinics. The hospice also offers support for carers and families, bereavement and remembrance services, befriending, and resources for people seeking advice or support. Its team works with patients, loved ones and community partners to address both significant challenges and everyday needs, guided by values of caring, compassion and commitment. As a charity, St Catherine’s relies on local community generosity to fund its work. People can support it through donations, fundraising, volunteering, charity shop contributions, events and its weekly lottery. The hospice also runs The Mill café and community hub, offers room hire, and provides an online shop.
