## Description

The Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of sea turtles and their habitats since its inception. Based in Gainesville, Florida, STC promotes critical research and education initiatives, primarily focused on protecting threatened species such as the Green, Loggerhead, and Leatherback turtles. Through programs like the Tortuguero and Bocas del Toro research projects, they engage in habitat monitoring, nesting site protection, and tracking the movements of sea turtles.

STC offers a range of services including educational resources, community outreach, and various ways for individuals to get involved, such as turtle adoption programs and volunteer opportunities. Their commitment extends to policy advocacy aimed at mitigating threats like climate change, illegal trade, and marine pollution. Visitors can engage with sea turtles through events like the Tour de Turtles and Turtle Walks, while also supporting conservation efforts through donations and membership. The STC is passionate about inspiring action to protect these magnificent creatures and their ecosystems worldwide.
