## Description

Steel Rivers Aikido is a not-for-profit martial arts club based in North Versailles, Pennsylvania, serving students in Westmoreland and Allegheny counties and Western Pennsylvania. Under the direction of Sensei Alan Paris, the club teaches the fundamentals of Aikido, a Japanese martial art practice open to people of all ages and fitness levels. Its training presents Aikido as a self-defense approach that uses an attacker’s momentum rather than relying on the practitioner’s physical strength. Students also develop discipline, balance, flexibility, and physical fitness, while learning stress-management skills and how to fall without injury. The club welcomes new students at all times and invites interested people to visit a class to see the practice firsthand. Classes are held on Thursday evenings at Linway United Presbyterian Church, at 600 Lincoln Highway in North Versailles. Steel Rivers Aikido provides an opportunity for newcomers to explore martial arts training and build practical movement and self-defense skills. For inquiries, contact the club by email at alanparis@rocketmail.com.
