It all began with a family recipe called Rosie's Sweet Pepper Spread, a delicious ground peppers and tomato sauce concoction passed down from Nick and Lucy Villella to their grandson Nickki Stello. What was once a Sunday meal tradition quickly turned into a college business project for Nickki, and eventually led to the birth of Stello Foods in 1993.

The business started in the basement of the Stello family home before moving to a larger processing plant in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Initially focused on producing their own family recipes, Stello Foods soon expanded into contract packaging and private label manufacturing for other companies. Today, they have a fully automated production facility that produces a wide range of products for hundreds of companies.
