## Description

STEMGuyana is a non-profit organization that is focused on unlocking the technology potential of the youth in Guyana. The organization is co-founded by Karen Abrams, who grew up playing basketball in the North Ruimveldt community. Karen's passion for basketball led her to represent Guyana in the Caribbean championship team. Her skills on the basketball court helped her secure scholarships to study in the United States.

After graduating with degrees in Business Administration and Marketing, Karen had a successful career in IT management, where she led multiple cross-functional departments and project teams. In 2006, she founded a start-up party rentals company and later established a community project in Decatur, GA, that focused on math, science, and technology education.

Karen's vision for STEMGuyana is to provide programming, robotics, and math enrichment to every youth community in Guyana. Through STEMGuyana, Karen and her team aim to empower young people by helping them reach their full potential.
