## Description

Stepping Forward, LLC is a wellness and healthcare support business led by owner and CEO Lilly Mees. Drawing on her personal experience with Type 1 diabetes and professional background as an exercise specialist, Mees aims to help people feel empowered as they manage chronic conditions and navigate healthcare. The company provides patient advocacy and personal case management, helping clients understand their care, communicate with providers, arrange appointments and referrals, coordinate transitions, and connect with community resources. Support may also include guidance with transportation, medications, medical equipment, and patient rights.

Stepping Forward also offers diabetes prevention and management coaching for people with prediabetes or Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. Certified diabetes educators provide individualized coaching and small-group support, with a patient-centered focus on building care plans, addressing barriers, coordinating with healthcare teams, and improving quality of life. Coaching is available virtually, with face-to-face visits also offered. The business’s broader wellness approach considers mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, physical, environmental, occupational, and social needs.
