## Description

Step Up, Step Further is a Florida Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) developing scholarship opportunities for K–12 students in public and private schools. The program is scheduled to launch in 2027 through the Education Freedom Tax Credit, with scholarships funded by taxpayer donations rather than federal funding. Its initiative builds on Step Up For Students’ experience serving Florida families and administering education scholarships.

Scholarship funds may support tuition, tutoring, technology, uniforms, room and board, special-needs services, and other educational items. Eligibility is intended for students who may attend a public K–12 school and live in households earning up to 300% of area median income; families can use the organization’s AMI lookup tool to check local income guidelines.

Step Up, Step Further also invites donors to contribute to its scholarship fund. Eligible donors may receive a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit of up to $1,700, with unused credits eligible to carry forward for up to five years.
