## Description

Stewards of Change Institute (SOCI) works to improve health and well-being by strengthening information-sharing and interoperability across health, human services, education, child welfare, public health, public safety, and related fields. Its goal is to support more coordinated, person-centered services, especially for vulnerable and underserved communities, through a multigenerational, systems-level approach. The institute offers thought leadership, practical tools, research, and learning opportunities to help organizations address complex cross-sector challenges.

SOCI’s programs include the National Interoperability Collaborative, a forum for exploring technical, legal, governance, and equity issues in data-sharing, and InterOptimability, an approach designed to help organizations advance their interoperability efforts. Its InterOptimability Training and Certification Curriculum provides individuals and organizational teams with knowledge and skills to lead change, collaborate across institutional boundaries, and manage information privacy and consent. SOCI also shares guidance on confidentiality, privacy, and security; publishes reports and educational resources; and facilitates graphic murals that make group ideas and future goals visible. Through symposia, training, and collaboration with partners, the institute promotes responsible data-sharing, health equity, and improved services.
