## Description

WATER Drager van Leven (WdL) is a Dutch initiative focused on the relationship between water and life. Its foundation operated from 2004 until it was dissolved on 1 February 2019, citing the board members’ advancing age and their growing distance from the professional water sector. Although the foundation no longer exists, related activities have continued, including maintaining and expanding its website, handling email enquiries, publishing the Bulletin WdL for interested readers, and supporting related initiatives where possible.

From 2020 to 2022, WdL contributed a series of articles to H2O online on the distinctive qualities of water. The articles connect the former foundation’s work with the wider water-sector community and include extensive scientific references. The site also provides information about the foundation’s activities and vision of water, alongside material on water management and drinking-water provision in the Netherlands. The development of the Fishflowform emerged from the foundation’s work. WdL’s resources are intended for people interested in water, its qualities, and its significance for life.
