St. Joseph's Indian School is a Native American school dedicated to providing education and support to Lakota (Sioux) children and their families. As an apostolate of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, our mission is to improve the quality of life for Native American communities.

We offer a safe and stable home away from reservation hardships, individual counseling and guidance, and a carefully planned curriculum based on Lakota (Sioux) culture and individual student needs. Through our programs, students have the opportunity to learn the Lakota language, study Native American heritage and traditions, and heal the effects of generations of poverty. Our goal is to break the cycle of poverty and provide a brighter future for approximately 200 Lakota (Sioux) children each year.

All services and programs provided to our students are free-of-charge, thanks to the generous support of our donors.
