## Description

The Stockholm Water Foundation (SWF) is an organisation established in 1990 by the City of Stockholm, the Stockholm Water Festival Foundation, and the private sector to advance water research and development. It promotes water-wise action and celebrates people making significant contributions to water-related challenges through two international awards.

The Stockholm Water Prize, presented annually since 1991, recognises exceptional achievements in water. SWF shares information about the prize’s history and laureates and invites nominations for individuals whose work advances the field. Its past laureates represent diverse professions, activities, and scientific disciplines from around the world.

The Stockholm Junior Water Prize supports young people aged 15 to 20 who develop solutions to water challenges. The competition receives thousands of entries from approximately 40 countries. SWF provides information for participants, highlights winning projects, and invites people to organise national competitions.

Through its awards, youth competition, news, and media resources, the foundation connects water innovators and raises awareness of their work. Its website also provides information about SWF’s mission, board, press materials, and accreditation.
