## Description

The SIFMA Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) educational organization that helps learners understand financial markets, investing, and personal finance. Since 1977, its programs have reached nearly 20 million students, offering accessible, experience-based financial education for people of different ages and backgrounds.

Its flagship program, The Stock Market Game, is an online simulation for grades 4–12 and other learners. Participants manage a virtual $100,000 portfolio using real stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, while practicing research, teamwork, and investment decision-making in a risk-free setting. The Foundation also offers SMG InvestQuest, a shorter portfolio simulation with beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.

Additional initiatives include InvestWrite, a national essay competition for Stock Market Game participants; the Capitol Hill Challenge, a financial education competition for junior high and high schools; and Invest It Forward, which connects students with financial industry volunteers and guest speakers. Educators can access lesson plans, activities, assessments, and other curriculum resources through the Teacher Support Center. The Foundation also provides mobile tools that support student portfolio activities.
