## Description

Stockport Metro Swimming Club is a competitive aquatic club based at Life Leisure Grand Central in Stockport. Established in 1974, it has approximately 230 members and is recognised for its coaching and competitive swimming programme. The club aims to provide swimmers with the right environment and opportunities at each stage of their development, supporting progression from local competition towards regional, national and international levels.

Its junior and youth swimming programmes are led by coaches and support staff and offer more than 24 hours of pool and land training. Members can take part in squad training, competitions, club championships, open meets and away galas, with guidance on training times and competition requirements available through the club. Stockport Metro also offers artistic swimming, combining swimming, dance and gymnastics in solos, duets and team routines performed to music. Participants work through competitive skill grades and can compete at regional and national events, as well as perform in displays.
