## Description

ACS Stop the Bleed is a life-saving initiative launched by the American College of Surgeons, designed to equip individuals with essential skills to respond effectively to bleeding emergencies. The program has successfully trained over 5 million participants globally, promoting public awareness and resilience in crisis situations. By focusing on three critical actions, the Stop the Bleed courses empower bystanders to control life-threatening bleeding following accidents or disasters, drawing on advancements in hemorrhage control from military medicine.

The campaign originated from a federal interagency collaboration aimed at enhancing knowledge of bleeding management across communities. Beyond training, ACS Stop the Bleed offers resources, including kits and educational materials, to ensure individuals are prepared to act swiftly when every second matters. With May designated as National Stop the Bleed Month, the organization encourages everyone to engage in training opportunities and support through donations, furthering its mission to make bleeding control accessible and effective for all.
