## Description

The Società Napoletana di Storia Patria (SNSP) is a private historical society based at Castel Nuovo, also known as the Maschio Angioino, in Naples. Founded in 1875 and recognised as a legal entity in 1882, it promotes the study of history and historiography, particularly of southern Italy. The society preserves a significant library and cultural heritage collection, including manuscripts, historical archives, private collections, parchments, iconographic materials and numismatic holdings. Its library is open to visitors on scheduled weekdays, and the organisation provides information about access, membership and related costs.

SNSP supports historical research through specialised publications, digital editions, conferences, projects, awards and scholarships. Its initiatives include cataloguing medieval and early modern manuscripts, digitising cultural treasures and making historical documents more accessible. The society also organises activities and shares news about research and heritage in Campania. Donations help support the preservation and reconstruction of its historic library and the continued availability of its resources to the public.
