## Description

STORKS is a UK charity dedicated to improving neonatal and paediatric care, with the aim of helping every child receive the specialist support they need. Founded by a multidisciplinary team, the organisation combines clinical education, research funding and support for specialist patient transport to strengthen care for babies and children.

Its training programmes help healthcare professionals develop practical skills in stabilisation and transfer. Courses include STAN, an intensive programme covering the road-transfer pathway for acutely unwell newborns, and STAN-AIR, focused on the specific demands of aeromedical transfers. STORKS also describes programmes in pre-hospital neonatal care and advanced resuscitation and monitoring, as well as bespoke NHS observerships for overseas clinicians.

Through grants and fellowships, STORKS supports research, quality improvement projects and postgraduate study in neonatal and paediatric medicine. Its funding programmes include seed grants for promising ideas, small grants for practical initiatives and fellowships for healthcare professionals pursuing advanced degrees. The charity also helps bridge the distance to specialist treatment by supporting neonatal and paediatric transport by road and air.
