Founded in 1852, St. Peter's Catholic School in Columbia, SC has a rich history and is the longest operating Catholic school in South Carolina. With a strong focus on moral stewardship, our school aims to provide students with the skills and values they need to lead a good life.

Recognizing the need for spiritual support, Bishop John England sent Fr. Dennis Corkery to minister to the workers and eventually establish St. Peter's Catholic Church.

Designed by architect Robert Mills, the church became a symbol of faith in the region. Today, St. Peter's Catholic School is proud to be recognized as a Minor Basilica by the Vatican, highlighting our historical significance and vibrant parish life.
