## Description

Stray South Fishing Outfitters New Zealand offers guided freshwater fishing experiences in Southland, on New Zealand’s South Island. Led by Kristina Placko, the outfitters help visitors explore the region’s rivers and develop practical fishing skills. Their guided fly-fishing experiences are designed for people curious about the sport, with an emphasis on learning essential techniques, understanding river conditions and building confidence to fish independently.

For anglers who prefer spin fishing, Stray South offers guided trips focused on sight fishing for trout with light tackle. The clear waters and trout-rich setting make this a tactical, rewarding way to take on the challenge of freshwater fishing. The website also promotes Wāhine on the Water, a girls’ weekend away scheduled for March 2027, featuring fly-fishing experiences in Southland.

Visitors can enquire about trips or arrange dates for a fishing adventure through the contact page. The site also provides pricing and event information, and invites subscribers to receive updates and news from Southland’s rivers.
