## Description

STREB EXTREME ACTION is a Brooklyn-based performance company founded by Elizabeth Streb, a MacArthur “Genius” Award winner. For more than 40 years, its experimental performers have explored movement through high-impact physical feats, including slamming, flying, falling, and crashing. The company describes its work as creating a new language of movement and invites audiences and participants to engage with “the Action.”

Based at the STREB Lab for Action Mechanics (SLAM) at 51 North 1st Street in Brooklyn, STREB presents performances and offers education and community programming. Its offerings include classes and camps for children, adult classes and workshops, and birthday parties. The organization also operates the España-STREB Trapeze Academy and makes its space available for rentals. Visitors can learn about the company’s artistic work, attend performances, participate in movement programs, or support STREB through its community and fundraising initiatives. STREB’s performances have appeared worldwide, and its programming is designed to invite everyone into its distinctive, athletic approach to movement.
