Founded by a passionate individual, it has evolved into a foundation that relies on volunteers to document and preserve the history of IJsselmonde and its inhabitants. The organization focuses on collecting and digitizing diverse forms of information related to individuals, businesses, families, and other pertinent details about the area. The archive not only provides access to historical documents but also offers various activities, including genealogical research assistance and a thematic service that features exhibits about the local history. The archive aims to foster community involvement through volunteer opportunities and financial support from donors. Open to the public several days a week, it welcomes those interested in exploring the rich heritage of IJsselmonde while also offering special educational events and newsletters to keep the community informed and engaged.
