## Description

Streichelhof in Mittweida is a family-friendly animal and learning destination in Saxony, offering children opportunities to discover animals, nature, and responsible care in a welcoming farm setting. Its central focus is equestrian education, with activities for different ages and experience levels, from beginner sessions to more advanced riding lessons. Children can also enjoy pony rides, nature walks, and hands-on encounters with farm animals, including goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, poultry, pigs, and cows.

The farm’s educational programmes use horses to support playful learning, including sound and colour games and activities inspired by the Montessori approach. For younger visitors, the Bambini course and pony kindergarten introduce animal care and interaction in an age-appropriate way. Families can take part in parent-child evenings, while children’s birthdays and seasonal events, such as Easter walks and Children’s Day activities, offer special ways to visit. Themed experiences featuring Princess Kati and her magical unicorn or Knight Kuno and the dragon add imaginative fun. Streichelhof also arranges local outings and offers animal sponsorships.
