## Description

Bureau Stroming is a Dutch consultancy working to make the Netherlands more natural, safe and liveable. The organisation develops influential concepts, including Living Rivers, Natural Climate Buffers, Living Grensmaas and Temporary Nature, connecting people with existing and future nature. Its work links ecological goals to practical social and economic priorities, such as water management, changes in agriculture, energy and housing, resource extraction, recreation, climate adaptation and ecosystem services.

Stroming provides advice and research, develops new concepts and supports project implementation. Its work spans rivers and streams, coasts and estuaries, the IJsselmeer region, rural areas and urban settings. Projects include integrated area planning, landscape visions, master plans and nature research. For example, the bureau has worked on plans for the Hiense Waard and contributes to approaches for riverbed restoration and multi-channel river systems. Stroming also shares knowledge through publications, courses and accessible visual communication. Its projects and ideas aim to create robust natural areas that can contribute to resilience and help address environmental and spatial challenges.
