## Description

Dr. Stuart Jeanne Bramhall is a psychiatrist and activist whose memoir, The Most Revolutionary Act: Memoir of an American Refugee, recounts her harrowing experiences with government harassment and her journey to a new life in New Zealand. After 25 years of practicing in Seattle, Bramhall was compelled to leave due to relentless FBI harassment linked to her support for two former Black Panthers and their efforts to establish an African American museum. The memoir details her experiences of covert harassment, including numerous life-threatening encounters, and serves as a chilling reminder of the dangers faced by dissidents and activists. With a focus on both personal trauma and broader social injustices, her writing sheds light on systemic oppression in American society and the often hidden workings of government surveillance. Bramhall, an advocate for mental health and social equity, uses her platform to inspire awareness and encourage social change through her work and speaking engagements.
