## Description

Students of Stand-up is a comedy education program led by Tom Riehl and based in Orange County, California. It offers workshops and coaching for people interested in learning, writing, and performing stand-up comedy, from complete beginners to more experienced comedians. The program emphasizes a supportive, nurturing environment where participants can build confidence, develop material, and learn about performing for an audience.

Its six-week Stand-up Comedy 101 workshop introduces newcomers to comedy writing and stage performance, while the Writer’s Workshop helps participants with prior writing or performance experience refine existing material and create new jokes. Stand-up 4 Kids is designed for young people ages 9 to 16 who enjoy making people laugh. Across its offerings, Students of Stand-up provides guidance on comedy techniques, shaping and polishing a set, and preparing to perform, including taking material to comedy clubs. Workshops can serve people pursuing comedy for fun or with professional ambitions. Student testimonials describe the classes as informative, encouraging, and confidence-building, with opportunities to perform in a showcase and learn alongside fellow aspiring comedians.
