## Description

Sturgeon Lake Minor Hockey Association (SLMHA), known as Sturgeon Thunder, is a community minor hockey organization serving young players in the Sturgeon Lake area. The association offers programs for children from introductory levels through U18, including TimBits U5 and U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, and U18 divisions. Teams participate in recreational and competitive play, with both local team competition and Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) representative programs reflected in the association’s schedules and results.

SLMHA supports players and families with registration information, tryout schedules, team finding, game schedules, results, and organization events. Development opportunities include shared skills sessions, power skating, goalie development, and practices. The association also provides resources for coaches, trainers, and parents, including applications, performance surveys, contracts, concussion guidance, and Safe Sport information. Tournament participation and hosting are part of the season, alongside community events and fundraising activities. Through its programs, resources, and team activities, Sturgeon Lake Minor Hockey helps young athletes take part in organized hockey and builds connections among players, families, volunteers, and the local community.
